Connected-Sea Partons    [PDF]

The connected-sea and disconneced-sea partons of the hadronic tensor in the path-integral formalism are shown to be reflected in the nucleon matrix elements of the parton moments in the connected and disconnected insertions of the lattice calculation. Combining HERMES data on the strangeness parton distribution, the CT10 global fitting of the $\bar{u}(x) + \bar{d}(x)$ distributions, and the lattice result of the moment ratio of the strange to $u(d)$ in the disconnected insertion, i.e. $< x>_{s+\bar{s}}/ < x>_{u+\bar{u}}({\rm DI})$, we show the connected-sea can be separated from the disconnected-sea partons and the connected sea $\bar{u}^{cs}(x)+\bar{d}^{cs}(x)$ distribution of the proton is obtained in the region $0.03 < x < 0.4$ at $Q^2 = 2.5 \,\,{\rm GeV}^2$.
